Nestled casually amongst the assortment of drinks and food that litter the table, Post Malone and his messy corn-rowed hair are enjoying the company that currently inhabit the room. You can feel his energy leaking, and it’s contagious.
Currently having his biggest year to date, Post Malone is in a great place and this next year promises to send him into the stratosphere. Regardless, the young star keeps his eyes peeled on his surroundings and although he may not write consciously at all times, there’s no doubt he’s an extremely perceptive being.
"The biggest lie in the world is the U.S. government,” he says as if stating the obvious. “It's a f*cking reality show and I think there's gonna be a lotta weird sh*t that happens within our generation that really changes the way of the world. So move somewhere because whenever martial law is declared, whenever your credit cards fails, whenever your banks fail, you have 3 days to get outta where you are, because that's when they're coming for you.”
And come for you they will. Post Malone himself has seen dark nights and timid days throughout his career and continually attempts to push his own envelope. It’s great to see artists like himself find their time in the spotlight after personal struggles that threatened to take them off their mojo for ever. Fortunately, as Post Malone knows through first-hand experience, it’s the artists that push through these struggles with untamed perseverance and determination that eventually find success.
“Don’t give up. There’s a lot of people that are gonna try and put you down… and gonna try and tell you that you ain’t gonna be shit. Just keep on rocking, I had my very dark times but you always gonna come out like a phoenix. You gonna come out of the ashes flying so high like a flaming bird. Always be yourself, always be original! It’s you being happy with who you are.”
